7 Deadly Sins: GREED
“GREED” and the entire series is currently exhibited through AUG 30, 2015 at the Ellison Center for the Arts, Duxbury, MA (U.S.A.); part of the exhibit “LOR3nzo’s 7 Deadly Sins”
GREED plays on the juxtaposition of Art and culture. It features an actual 10 Trillion Dollar bill from Zimbabwe, the quote “Will Art for Food”, and the quote “Money is the Commoditization of Power”.
The flashy gold foreground is painted on top of a very subtle and calming blue lined background, representing the loudness of greed over the multitude of unsung heroes that every day make this world a better place by working hard behind the scenes, with their “only” reward being the knowledge of doing a job well done.
Born on March 2015, the 7 Deadly Sins series is comprised of 7 paintings each approx 42″ x 25″ x 47″ x 30″ (105cm x 62.5cm x 118cm x 75cm); acrylic, tempera and paint on 10oz cotton duck canvas mounted on custom framing.
The series can be exhibited as 7 individual paintings, or each painting can be joined to one another forming a single composition approx 47″ x 200″ (118 cm x 500 cm).
